Award-winning producer Ash Christian, the mastermind behind films such as Fat Girls, After Everything, and Coyote Lake, has passed away at the age of 35.
According to Dallas Voice, the young producer, who directed his first movie at the age of just 19, died in his sleep on August 14 while vacating in Mexico. Further details about Christian’s death are currently unavailable.
The 35-year-old actor and producer rose to fame after directing Fat Girls, which was released in 2006, back when he was just 19 years old. Besides writing the screenplay, Christian also played a major role in his movie and was later awarded the award for Outstanding Emerging Talent.
Nearly a decade later, in 2014, the young man also received a Daytime Emmy Award for his short movie called ‘mI Promise’.
Throughout his career, Christian produced a series of award-winning films and even founded his own production company called Cranium Entertainment.
Following the producer’s premature death, fellow filmmakers paid a tribute to the young man who managed to reel in 31 credits as a producer and 33 credits as an actor according to IMDb.
“He was a champion of indie film and filmmakers and his love of the process of putting movies together was infectious. My heart goes out to his family, especially his mother. The world lost one of the good ones,” Anne Clements, Christian’s production partner, told Deadline.
Jordan Yale Levine, another producing partner of the 35-year-old, dubbed Christian a “talented writer/director/producer” and claimed he was a “good friend” and “a great person.”
“I will miss my good friend dearly, as I know so many others will as well. The world has lost a talented writer/director/producer, but most importantly, a great person who had so much more life to live,” Levine expressed.
