Weddings are big events not just for the ones getting married but also for their friends and families as well.
That’s why they try to contribute to the occasion’s success in any way they can, at the very least by being well-behaved. But one brother decided to honor his sister’s wedding by bringing a llama along, a promise that he first made five years ago.
But Mendl Weinstock wasn’t satisfied with just bringing any llama, he dressed it up in a tuxedo for his sister Riva Eisenberg’s wedding.
Riva, 22, who got married on March 1, was initially “angry” but eventually came around and found the humor in her younger brother’s antics.
Mendl, 21, explained: “Five years ago she was talking about her wedding as if it were tomorrow when she wasn’t even dating anyone.
“I told her if she makes me come to this wedding I was going to bring a llama with me, it was the first thing that popped into my head just to get a reaction out of her. She got very upset and told me I couldn’t.
“I kept pushing so she tried to use reverse psychology on me by saying the llama was invited to the wedding, I took her literally and ever since that day I have promised that I would do it.
“Yesterday I fulfilled that promise. She was shocked and a little angry at first, as you can see in the picture, but eventually, she realized it was in good fun and overall she had an amazing wedding.”
Mendl, a financial planning student from Cleveland, Ohio, added: “She [Riva] said a lot of words that are not appropriate in polite company but she accepted it and had a good time.
“Many knew I was planning it but didn’t really think I’d follow through. For some, it was totally out of the blue and they were in disbelief.”
To his credit, Mendl brought the llama in after the ceremony and kept it for a few hours just so that pictures could be taken.
Mendl added: “The handlers actually put the tux on, apparently this particular llama is used to wearing costumes. As far as where I got the tux from goes, a good friend of mine heard the story and offered to sew it up for me because she wanted to help create more goodness in the world.
“She made the tux using dimensions sent to us from the handlers but the handlers actually put the tux on.”
