While most people agree that lockdowns are necessary for public health, the disruption it’s causing to daily life is still difficult to stomach for some people, especially those who enjoy going out and meeting people.
Not only that, if you have a favorite restaurant, but any craving for your favorite dish that you can’t satisfy can also be mentally excruciating.
For the patrons of one Glasgow pub, they’re fortunate in that their pub actually delivers drinks fresh from the tap so that everyone can enjoy a drink while remaining safe at home.
That’s the aim of the owners of The Bay Horse who wanted to put “a wee smile on their faces” during a crisis that is unprecedented for most people who are alive today (the only exceptions being the ones who lived through World War 2).
This why the pub arranged to have a nice cold and freshly poured pint delivered to its patrons while being in full compliance with social distancing guidelines mandated by the government. This means that during drop-off, there is no physical contact and the drinks are left at a safe distance from people.
Furthermore, the delivery staff also wear gloves and masks to ensure that both the staff and their customers are safe.
All the regulars need to do to order is message the pub on Facebook and can even order for others by entering their delivery addresses.
The staff shared a collage of satisfied patrons holding up their free pints and suffice to say, it has been a huge success.
They wrote: “Good day today delivering some FREE pints to our regular customers, was good to see them and put a wee smile on their faces even if it was from a distance. Missing you all.
“Social distance in place along with gloves and masks to keep everyone safe.
“Sorry if we didn’t get to you today we may do another day so watch our page.”
A lot of people liked, shared, or commented on the post that the staff shared and have been letting them know how thankful they are for the pub’s generosity as well as taking the chance to ask their own favorite establishments to follow suit.
One person wrote: “That’s a lovely thing to do. Very thoughtful.”
Another person added: “Well done. Enjoyed the pints. Thanks again. Stay safe.”
This goes to show that it’s possible to enjoy your favorite pursuits while still staying safe!
