We choose our pets as much for their looks as for their personalities. There is always some variety even among dogs of the same breed but in general, you can already expect a general look that distinguishes that breed with certain minor differences that differentiate one dog from another.
However, sometimes the way the markings on the fur come together in such a way that they remind us of things that you only see on people. And when that happens, the cuteness level goes off the charts and you can’t help but shiver at how adorable it looks.
Such is the case for Salvador Dolly, a five-week-old mixed breed puppy who was rescued from the streets on July 10, 2019. This is because Dolly sports mouth fur that is amazingly shaped like a handlebar mustache. In fact, the adorable pup was named after artist Salvador Dali who was as recognizable for his mustache as he was for his paintings.
Dolly is currently in Dallas at her foster home with 10 other siblings and their mother. She sports a white body with black ears and a spot on her tail. But her most distinctive feature is the mustache-shaped marking above her top lip.
By late August or early September, Dolly will make her way to New York City so that she can make her rounds in various foster homes until she comes upon her forever home.
Allison Seelig, VP of Marketing at Hearts & Bones Rescue, said: “Moustache Puppy is absolutely adorable and we’re so happy we were able to rescue her and her family.
“It’s puppy season in Dallas right now and there are always multiple moms with litters at the shelter.
“We try to get as many out as we can because neither moms nor their babies are available for adoption while they’re nursing, and the risk of young puppies getting sick in the shelter environment is very high.”
“Our mama and her 11 babies were found as strays and lived in the shelter in Dallas for over 2 weeks.
“We went to meet them last week and were able to find an incredible foster in Dallas who was willing to take the entire family in!
“The whole family is now relaxing in a comfy and safe home and getting medical care and monitoring until the puppies are old enough to be weaned.
“We’ll be sending the whole family to NYC for adoption in late August/early September, where they’ll go into foster homes until they find their forever families!”
