Two adorable puppies share a very strong bond their rescuers haven’t seen before.

You see, Denver and Star belong to a litter of 8 puppies that were abandoned along with their mama. When the pooches were brought to the Helen Woodward Animal Center, rescuers realized right away that something was wrong with Star.

While other puppies played in the shelter, 3-month-old Star showed signs of special needs.

The team then realized that the terrier blend is nearly blind and deaf.

But what they also noticed is that one of her siblings, Denver, acts not only as a loyal playmate but also as a guide dog to his sister. The brother pup took it upon himself to take care of Star as the disabled pooch eventually learned to use her other senses.

The manager of adoption services, Dora Dahlke, said in a press release: “It’s really extraordinary. We never stop learning from animals.”

Caretakers said that the pups are rarely apart and when there are times the two were separated, Denver runs to Star to “let her know he was there.”

Their new owners will receive proper training from an expert on how to raise a dog with special needs. Denver will also be with his sister as they are inseparable.

“These two really can teach us all a thing or two about sibling love and how much we can achieve with the love of a good friend,” Dahlke said.
