Six infant pups have been brought back home to their mother after they were taken away by thieves.
The heartless thieves slashed their poor mom’s face with a Machete while stealing the puppies from. Two men armed with machetes entered a flat in Harpurhey, Manchester, with the intention of stealing valuables.
During their search, they discovered a litter of six pups and decided to steal them.
As the thieves started ‘packing’ the five-week-old little souls into carrier bags to take them away, their brave mom Zena tried to defend them but was attacked by the men.
The head wound incapacitated the mom and the thieves ran away with the pups.
When the incident was reported to Greater Manchester Police, they started a search and rescue mission for the pups, appealing public to help trace them.
“We are urgently appealing for information which will help us locate the puppies which were stolen this morning,” said Nick Kershaw, a detective working in Greater Manchester Police’s City of Manchester Division.
“The dogs are only five-weeks-old and without their mother, they likely won’t survive very long so it is important that anybody with information that can assist, please contacts police as a matter of urgency.
“This was an incredibly callous robbery, where the offenders showed absolutely no regard for the safety of anyone, human or animal, who was present at the time.
“They only had one thing on their mind, which was to take whatever they could. Please help us return these puppies and reunite them with their very sad mother, Zena, who has been left devastated.”
Thankfully, the police successfully retrieved all of the pups following a raid on an establishment in the Moston area of Manchester.
They also arrested a 40-year-old man as a suspect of the armed robbery, placing him in custody for investigation.
All of the staff cross pups are doing great, and their mother is extremely delighted on getting her family back.
The case is still being investigated and the cops are keen to talk to anyone having information that can be helpful in solving it.
“This has been a fast-paced investigation and I am pleased to be able to say that last night, we attended at an address in Moston and recovered all six puppies,” detective Kershaw said.
“The puppies are all safe and well, and have been reunited with their mother, Zena, who was absolutely delighted to see them.
“It has been a huge effort from the team to reunite the puppies with their mother before the worst happened, however our investigation is not finished there and we are keen to speak with anyone who can help us.”
