The pyramids of Giza in Egypt are a testament to the amazing ingenuity and engineering prowess of the ancients.

In fact, there are some aspects to their construction that have confounded even modern engineers.

This is why these pyramids are held in a certain amount of awe among tourists and experts alike. At least, most of them.

One social media influencer decided to use the pyramids of Giza to promote his channel and the stunt landed him in jail for his trouble.

Vitaly Zdorovetskiy has more than three million followers on Instagram. Influencers face a certain pressure to come up with something that stands above the Internet noise in order for them to remain relevant which is why Vitaly posted a picture of himself on top of the biggest of the Giza pyramids.

Since the pic only shows his feet, it’s hard to say if he really climbed to the top or if it was a fancy photoshop job.

Whatever it was, it still landed him in jail.

The YouTuber wrote on Instagram: “No words can explain what I just went through the past 5 days. I was locked up in Egypt because I climbed the Pyramids Of Giza.

“I’ve been in jail many times but this one was by far the very worst. I saw horrible things and I don’t wish this upon anybody.

“Was it worth it? F**K YEAH! I did it for a good cause and soon I’m going to share the whole video so the whole world can see.”

Given the dubious authenticity of the photograph, as they say, video or it didn’t happen.

If you’re wondering who Vitaly Zdorovetskiy is, he already made headlines last year. That’s when he convinced his girlfriend to crash a Champions League match in Madrid while wearing nothing but a swimsuit while promoting his X-rated website.

Kinsey Wolanski somehow slipped past security and ran onto the pitch at Wanda Metropolitano stadium in Madrid during the first half of the match between Tottenham and Liverpool.
