The hand-written note was placed on top of the Duke of Edinburgh’s coffin alongside a wreath of flowers, including freesia, lilies, and roses.

Written in black, the note said: “In loving memory.”

The message below was hidden in the flowers but reports have suggested that the Queen signed the letter off as ‘Lilibet,’ the nickname she was given and used by her closest family members.

Behind the coffin was the royal procession led by Prince Philip’s children, Prince Charles, Princess Anne, Prince Andrew, and Prince Edward. His grandchildren, Prince William and Prince Harry, followed but the brothers were separated by their cousin Peter Phillips.

The Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, pronounced the blessing before the 30 members of the Royal family.

Prince William and Prince Harry walked back with Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge, and were seen talking to each other as they were reunited for the first time since the Duke of Sussex moved to the US.
