Queen Elizabeth II has found herself locked out of her own home, the Windsor Castle, with the gates firmly shut.
According to the reports, the Queen and her assistants were returning from the Buckingham Palace when they came across the closed gates of the castle.
As no one opened the wooden gate in time, a bodyguard exited the Range Rover and attempted to open it without success.
Following one minute of attempts to open the heavy gates, the convoy drove off to another entrance in hopes of being able to enter the property.
Shortly after their departure, however, the cars have turned around and the remote-controlled gates got opened.
“I’m not sure if someone was sleeping on the job or simply that they were not expecting her, but it’s unheard of. And it’s not often you get to see a queen locked out of her own castle,” one of the witnesses said.
Speaking of the Royal Family, the Duke of Cambridge has recently decided to make an exception and break the royal protocol in order to take a selfie with his fan.
While the royals follow a strict protocol that restricts them from signing autographs and posing alongside their fans for a picture, Prince William couldn’t resist taking a selfie with Jennifer Malone after the girl gave him a bouquet upon his visit to the Republic of Ireland.
After sharing the photo online, Jennifer was flooded with positive responses of people who applauded the prince for taking the time to entertain his loyal fan.
“Jennifer, you’re an amazing young woman and it’s great to see you happy. As for you William, classy and friendly as always!” someone suggested.
“Jennifer you must be one amazing and beautiful young lady Obviously even Prince William couldn’t wait to take a selfie with you!! The Sweetest. Favorite post so far,” one person wrote on Twitter.
“Who’s that lucky guy beside you?” one person joked.
