Rachelle and Jayson were already proud parents of two beautiful children, but they were ready for a third child.
The pair tried for the third pregnancy over four months, but were unable to conceive. Determined, the two then went to a fertility specialist who recommended they go on hormone treatments.
Incredibly, the treatment worked and Rachelle was pregnant. The couple were very excited and began preparations. The pair were secretly hopeful for twins, but nothing could prepare them for what the first ultrasound had in store for them.

During their ultrasound the doctors found a third heartbeat. The room erupted up with excitement but then the doctors found more. It turned out that Rachelle and Jayson were about to have five babies! Rachelle wrote on her blog about the incredible experience of hearing the news.
The word ‘shocked’ only begins to describe what I felt at that moment.
Just about anyone would be absolutely shocked to hear that they’re about to have five babies! Unfortunately, the news wasn’t all great as Rachelle explains.
I felt almost numb as the doctor tried to explain how this could have happened. The doctor immediately began explaining the risks of trying to carry five babies and strongly recommended that we selectively abort three of the fetuses, to give the remaining two a better chance.

Certainly not what the couple expected a doctor to advise them to do! The two now had a major decision on their hands. Unfortunately, the statistics favored the doctor’s advice. The chances of survival for quadruplets is bleak, but quintuplets have an even smaller chance of all being born healthy.
Rachelle and Jayson would spend the next three weeks consulting as many medical professionals as possible so they could make an informed decision. But the story among all the medical professionals was the same: reduce the number of fetuses. This wasn’t what Rachelle wanted to hear, however.

I knew that these five babies did not come to me by accident. I knew that God had sent them to me for a reason and that he wants me to do all I can to bring them into this world.
It is with the backing of God that Rachelle and Jayson decided that they would carry all five babies to full term.
In the video below you will see Rachelle at 33 weeks pregnant! Even with five fully grown babies, Rachelle is all smiles. Jayson can’t help but mention that she’s the biggest she’s ever been. Just a few short days after the video was filmed, Rachelle delivered all five of babies on July 31st 2007. All of them happy and healthy. The babies, Kassidy, Kaydence, Rustin, Kyndall and Ryder are truly miracles that defied the odds.
Rachelle and Jayson updated their blog for several years after the pregnancy with adorable pictures of the quintuplets.
The pictures range include the quintuplets return back to home and some adorable moments with a very happy mom!
And of course the quintuplets were absolutely adorable as toddlers!
