A fun math puzzle for children has gone viral after the majority of adults struggle to come up with the correct answer.

Let’s get started. As you can see in the picture above, your job is to calculate the total number of handshakes provided that we have seven people who shake hands but once with one another.
Before you jump to any conclusions, think carefully, because the answer is definitely tricky!

The correct answer is 21!
Here’s an explanation: The first person can shake hands with the remaining six people, bringing the count to a total of six handshakes. The second person, however, can only shake hands with five people because they already shook hands with the first person.
If you continue down this road, you will realize that the 3rd person can only shake hands with the remaining four people, the 4th with three, the 5th with two, and the 6th only with the last person.
Since 6 + 5 + 4 + 3 + 2 + 1 = 21, 21 handshakes is the correct response!
