The actress who played Rachel and Ross’s baby on Friends has a hilarious response to Chandler’s 2020 joke.
Noelle Sheldon and her twin sister Cali played Emma on the beloved series. In the tenth season episode ‘The One With the Cake,’ Monica and Chandler, who were supposed to go on a vacation, missed their trip because of Emma’s first birthday celebration.
While waiting for the party to start, Ross asked the couple to film messages for the celebrant, which he was recording for Emma to watch when she turns 18.
Chandler started: “Hi, Emma. It’s the year 2020. Are you still enjoying your nap?”
Monica added: “We’re Aunt Monica and Uncle Chandler, by the way – you may not recognize us because we haven’t spoken to your parents in 17 years.”
In Noelle’s hilarious post, she smiled while holding a Central Perk mug, which she pasted on a photo of the fictional café were the cast members spent a lot of time together.
“Just woke up from the best nap of all time, happy 2020!” Noelle wrote, adding: “Hope everyone has an excellent year full of family, friends, and laughter!!”
Her twin jokingly commented: “Finally.”
After Noelle’s post, the episode also got a shoutout from Netflix on social media. Netflix India wrote on Twitter: “If you start S10E04 of Friends at 11:48 PM on December 31st, you’ll begin the year with Chandler saying, ‘Hi, Emma. It’s the year 2020. Are you still enjoying your nap?’”
Cali, who also has fond memories of the films, shared an adorable photo from their memorable days on set.
In the picture, which appeared to be taken while filming for ‘The One with the Cake’ episode, Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow and Courtney Cox smile while posing with the baby.
“The one where it all began…” Cali wrote.
