A beautiful rainbow appeared over New York City, lifting the spirits of residents left battered by coronavirus pandemic.
It appeared only hours after Gov. Andrew Cuomo declared that the worst of the COVID-19 outbreak was ‘over’ for residents if they ‘continue to be smart.’
People noticed the arch of colors after going to their windows to clap for frontliners and other essential workers. Many took photos of the stunning rainbow and shared the results online.
Gary Hershorn, a photo editor, took photos from his home, which showed the beautiful rainbow stretching from the World Trade Center in Lower Manhattan to the Empire State Building.
He told Fox News: “I have shot a lot of rainbows over New York City in the last few years that either went over One World Trade Center or the Empire State Building, but to be in a spot where the rainbow bridged these two iconic buildings on the NYC skyline was an incredible stroke of luck.”
He added: “It was a very hopeful for the people of New York City.”
Hershorn also said that the moment was even more incredible as the buildings were sparkling during sunset, resembling ‘a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.’
New York Governor told residents that the worst of the outbreak could be ‘over’ if people continue to be smart.
“We think we are at the apex,” he stated.
One internet user commented: “That is gorgeous. The symbol of God’s covenant with man. Sad that some weirdos are trying to take it over and put a rather less edifying meaning on to it.”
Another wrote: “A sign from God that this will pass, same as God used it as a sign after the flood of Noah. Amen!”
A third added: “Beautiful sign of hope.”
