Gordon Ramsay has welcomed his fifth child, Oscar James Ramsay, this Thursday.
Ramsay broke the news to his more than 6.2 million Instagram followers by sharing adorable photos of the newborn with wife Tana.
“After 3 Baftas and one Emmy… finally we have won an Oscar, please welcome Oscar James Ramsay, who touched down at 12:58 today for some lunch!” the 52-year-old wrote with the photos.
The celebrity chef has already been blessed with four kids – Matilda, 17, twins Jack and Holly, 19, and Megan, 21.
Ramsay revealed that his wife was expecting their fifth child in a short video clip of his family shared on Instagram on New Year’s Day.
The clip looked like a New Year message from the family due to its caption, which said: ‘Exciting news! Happy New Year from all the Ramsays’.
But as the camera panned along with the Ramsays and reached Tana, she lifted her top to reveal a large bump and wished Happy New Year – confirming her pregnancy.
The famed chef said in the background: “And guess what…Happy New Year because we’ve got another one coming. Oh my lord, oh no!”
Since the arrival of little Oscar, well-wishers have been congratulating the family.
Former Dutch footballer Patrick Kluivert commented on Ramsay’s Instagram: “Congratulations Gordon for you and your family with the newborn Oscar @gordongram.”
Robbie Keane said: “Congratulations to you and the family pal,” while fellow celebrity chef Alex Guarnaschelli left a love heart emoji in the comments.
The couple has previously suffered a miscarriage two years ago.
After Tana made it through without any life-threatening consequences, Ramsay took to Facebook to share a heartfelt message, thanking his fans and Portland Hospital staff for their love and support.
“Hi guys, Tana and I want to thank you so much for your support over the past couple of weeks,” he wrote.
“We had a devastating weekend as Tana has sadly miscarried our son at five months. We’re together healing as a family, but we want to thank everyone again for all your amazing support and well wishes.
“I’d especially like to send a big thank you to the amazing team at Portland Hospital for everything they’ve done.”
Ramsay later said the incident played a key role in bringing his family much closer.
“You realize how lucky you are and you reflect on what you have, how fortunate you are with your remaining children and you remind yourself of what you’ve got,” he told the Daily Mail.
“It’s made the family unit even tighter.”
