Rapper T.
I. has shocked people around the world by revealing that he takes his teenage daughter to gynecologist every year to make sure she’s a virgin.
The 39-year-old singer recently revealed on the Ladies Like Us podcast that the virginity of his 18-year-old daughter Deyjah Harris is very important to him.
“I will say as of her 18th birthday, her hymen is still intact,” T.I. said. “Deyjah’s 18, just graduated high school now and she’s attending her first year of college, figuring it out for herself.”
“And yes, not only have we had the conversation [about sex], we have yearly trips to the gynecologist to check her hymen,” added T.I., who also has a three-year-old daughter Heiress.
At first, the podcast hosts Nadia Moham and Nazanin Mandi thought the rapper was joking. Turned out, he wasn’t.
Revealing more details about their doctor visits, T.I. said: “So it’s this one time we go, I think this might have been after her 16th birthday. This is what we do.
“Right after the birthday we celebrate. Usually like the day after the party, she’s enjoying her gifts. I put a sticky note on the door: ‘Gyno. Tomorrow. 9:30.’”
And since the medics can’t share the info without the consent of the patient, that’s Deyjah, so the singer cajoles the 18-year-old to do so.
“So we’ll go and sit down and the doctor will come and talk and the doctor’s maintaining a high level of professionalism,” he explained.
“He’s like, ‘Well, you know sir, I have to, in order to share information’ — I’m like, ‘Deyjah, they want you to sign this … so we can share information. Is there anything you would not want me to know?’ ‘See doc? No problem.’”
The doctors even explain to him the ways by which a hymen can break besides intercourse – but the rapper doesn’t seem to care.
He said: “So then they come and say, ‘Well, I just want you to know that there are other ways besides sex that the hymen can be broken, like bike riding, athletics, horseback riding, and just other forms of athletic physical activity.’
“So I say, ‘Look doc, she don’t ride no horses, she don’t ride no bike, she don’t play no sports. Just check the hymen please and give me back my results expeditiously.’”
After the revelation caused a backlash, the star defended his actions, saying his daughter would be grateful to him in the future when she’ll look back on this.
“I think that most kids in hindsight, looking back, they always thank their parents for not allowing them to damage themselves as much as they could have,” he said.
T.I. clearly has a different set on rules for his 15-year-old son King, who admitted that he was already doing the deed in June 2019 episode of the family’s VH1 reality show. At the time, T.I just laughed it off.
“I don’t want any of my children to have sex before it’s time for them, but who’s to say when it’s time?” he said.
“However, I will definitely feel different about a boy than I will about a girl. And that’s just the God’s honest truth. I don’t think there’s any father out there who’ll tell you any different.”
Meanwhile, 18-year-old Deyjah is no stranger to getting male attention.
Days before celebrating her 18th birthday, the teen wrote to her 1.4 million Instagram followers, saying: “I just want to quickly say that just because I’m turning 18 in June…that doesn’t mean 1. that ya’ll will even get the chance to lmaooooooo 2. more importantly, that still doesn’t make it right for you grown a** men to try and get at me…
“I will still be A TEENAGER!!! if you’re not ok with someone your age tryna get with your daughter, sister, niece, etc. then don’t think it’s ok with me.”
Ironically, the rapper’s own hits are flooded with lyrics about sex and he doesn’t bother promoting it in his music.
The rapper’s song Blurred Lines sparked outrage across the globe because of its controversial lyrics describing a man who is trying to force a woman into having intercourse with him.
