National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration research department came forward to clarify the situation. He said that the second double rainbow occurs when sunlight reflects off the nearby water body.

For this, the rainbow needs a large glossy smooth water surface. This smooth water will reflect the sun’s rays creating a doubled version of the rainbow.

The reflected rays develop primary and secondary rainbow on the opposite side of the sun. It was Amanda’s photography craze that made the photograph even more mesmerizing for the viewers.
