This little lion cub is the real-life Simba. This cub was used by Disney animators to create their CGI Lion King.
This cub is actually a female cub named Bahati. She lives in Dallas Zoo, in Texas, USA. Bahati was selected among the thousands of cubs by Disney animators.
A spokesperson for Dallas Zoos said: “The world’s most famous lion cub got some of his moves from our very own Bahati.”
“When Bahati was just a month old, we provided Disney with a video of her movements for their animation team to use for motion and behaviour reference when designing Simba in The Lion King.”
“From walking on wobbly new legs to licking milk droplets off her face we captured every moment no matter how small. We think it’s great to be able to see bits of Bahati in Simba”.
Bahati is now going viral after her story was posted online. She is getting the recognition that she deserves and now, people know her by her name.
One user commented on her story: ‘We saw this last night, SO good!! This little lion cub was a cutie for sure’ while another wrote: ‘she seems perfect to be the model for ornery simba! mom: “come back here bahati!”, “but, mommm!”’
The third one wrote: ‘I’d rather watch this cub play for 2 hours than the creepy CGI one’ while another added: ‘What’s cute little lion cub! Lions are such beautiful creatures! I love the new Serengeti series!! Seeing all the big cats and seeing how they live on a daily basis!’
One user said: ‘Omg what a cutie! My cousin & his wife went to see the movie last Friday, said it was awesome. The best!’
Bahati is winning hearts since her story went viral. The real cub behind the Lion King’s Simba is being loved by everyone. We would love to see more of her in the future.
