Getting rid of old furniture can be very difficult, especially when you really enjoyed it and it served you well.
No matter what you do, you just can’t make furniture last forever and you just have to let it go and chuck it.
Well, maybe not throw it out, but instead find another user for it.
One creative DIY-er realized that the furniture that was too old for her use could instead be used for something else. Always thinking of how to find a new life for something, she decided to turn her old furniture into planters for her plants and enhanced her garden with it. It’s absolutely adorable and gives her yard that extra bit of charm!

If you really want something to put in your backyard that will be a fantastic centerpiece and a fun new conversation starter, consider filling up an old, damaged piano with with flowers and dirt. You will have given your piano new life once more.
Another option for an old piano is to turn into a neat water fountain. With the flowers on top, the water flows over the keys into a tiny pond. Absolutely beautiful.
If you have an old bed frame that you no longer use, you could instead reinvent it to be a flower bed. As you can see it looks absolutely gorgeous and blends in perfectly.
If you wish to still use the bed occasionally, you could go for a grass one instead which will allow you to lay down, but it may not be as comfy as you remember it!
Bathtubs are usually quite deep so you have a wide variety of choices of what you may wish to plant in them. The bathtub will keep a good chunk of the plants isolated away, just in case you wanted to do a little mini garden!

If you feel even more brave, you can actually use a tub inside your house to grow some plants. Maintenance is a snap with the drain already built in!
Another excellent choice is using a sink for some plants. Although it isn’t nearly as deep as a tub, it’s still made out of the same durable materials and comes with a built-in drain which allows for very easy maintenance!
Toilets are another choice, although they don’t appear to blend in with a garden quite as easily! There is something artsy about the way the flowers pour out of them, however.
Even something as unusual as a grill can be used to great effect. I love the look and the way that it seems like nature is taking everything back.
Dressers are fantastic for gardening as well. Because of their drawers, they are instantly a multi level planter with no extra effort required.
Surprisingly even upholstered furniture can be used for it. Fair warning, though, the upholster will not last very long and does look a little shabby!

If dealing with all of that damp and messy upholstery isn’t your thing, then repurposing cinder blocks into something you could sit at might be your thing. Sure it’s not the most comfortable thing to sit on, but it looks miles better than a stack of cinder blocks!
