Sonali Ranaweera was motivated by her parents as they gave him $100 and asked her to make a difference in the world when she was just a little girl. She did not let it go to waste, rather made waste useful.
At the same time, Sonali was learning the economics of recycling at her school and this is how things started falling into one piece and gave birth to the most incredible idea. So, the little girl who had $100 in her hand decided to invest it all in recycling.
She launched Recycling4Smiles, a charitable organization focusing on raising funds by recycling bottles and cans in a place of value.
When Sonali was raising funds, she was looking for the right place to donate the money they would raise from recycling.
While she was looking for it, she found an ad of nonprofit Smile Train, an organization that works with kids born with cleft palates cleft lips.
She learned how a life-altering surgery can save the extreme from the tragedy the child would go through. The same conditions also have a tremendous effect on the health of the child.
After reading a lot about it, Sonali was determined where she wishes for all the money to go.
Recycling4Smiles, the charitable recycling organization raised a terrific amount of $39,000 to help Smile Train. She took help from friends, businesses, family, neighbors and everyone she could approach in terms of cans. This helped her in raising enough money.
The money she had donated to Smile Train has helped 44 children with their surgeries.
How blissful does it feel when your hard work and hard-earned money saves someone’s life and puts a smile on someone’s face.
This is what this young girl was able to do. Help her raising more money to help the young babies.
