The world is currently in danger of a new variant of the COVID-19 virus and doctors claim it to be more resistant than all others.
According to local media reports, the state of New York has declared an emergency after seeing a rapid influx in COVID-19 cases, followed by a new and more threatening virus strain on the rise around the world.
For this reason, New York’s Governor declared a state of emergency on Friday due to the prevailing conditions, adding how the country was gearing up to take all possible measures to prevent the new strain from causing devastation across the board.
The governor reassured the citizens about how the strain is yet to be detected in the country, but that doesn’t mean they’re willing to lay down barriers as neighboring countries as well as Europe has reported the omicron strain in travelers coming in from South Africa.
Just last night, President Biden revealed how he would be closing the borders for several countries on the red list and that includes South Africa where the strain was originally found to have arisen.
The governor also spoke about how she has decided to take up a step ahead from the rest and allow for the signing of the executive order that will reportedly allow the health department and a number of hospitals to acquire critical care supplies for emergency procedures, followed by the placement of all health care workers and hospitals on alert to prevent any unprecedented circumstance from taking place.
This new order is reported to come into effect by the 3rd of December and that’s when the prevailing conditions in the state will be reassessed by confirmed authorities.
Europe is already dealing with the new variant that experts claim to be the most dangerous one of them all. Germany has been massively hit by the pandemic, as hospitals and ICU beds are quickly filling up at a swift pace, adding the country’s local media agencies.
