Yes, this is possible as there are so many food items that can be regrown from their scraps. The remains of some fruits and veggies can be planted in the soil and with the help of sunlight, and water you can regrow the food. Here are some items you can easily grow and regrow at home. Celery
Cut about two inches from the base of the bunch and place into a shallow bowl of water. Keep changing the water in every couple of says. Soon the roots will bust out and then you will be able to plant it in the soil.
Herbs
Just like above. Make a cut in the herbs and then place it in a bowl of water. Let it sit in the same for a few days until the roots bust out. The transfer the plant to a different container of soil.
Garlic
It is the simplest food item you can regrow. Simply plant garlic clove standing upside down in the soil in the season of fall before the first frost and you will get a new head. Plant the same in a jar in any time of the year and you will get the garlic greens to enjoy.
Ginger
Well, ginger can be easily grown at home. All you have to do is, take a little part of it and plant it in a soil container. Forget about the rest. Keep watering it for a few days and you will get a completely new piece of ginger. Wash it off and use it.
Green onion
If you only like to eat greens of the onions then take the white part and soak it in water. Keep it in the same for a few days while keeping it in sunlight. The greens will grow and then you can easily use them.
Lettuce
Take the head of the lettuce and keep it in a bowl of fresh water after cutting all the leaves. Keep changing the water every second day. Within two weeks, you will find newly grown leaves on the head.
Peppers
Take out the seeds of bell pepper or hot pepper and plant them in a small container filled with soil. A plant will bud out in some days. Then you can transfer the plant outdoors in a wider area and container for sunlight and open air.
Potatoes & Sweet Potatoes
Take a potato and cut into half. Then all you have to do is bury it in soil and water it for a few days. If you want the process to be faster it will be better if you bury a sprouted potato.
