Rogue Builders Had Parties And Slept In Couple’s Bed After Getting Hired To Renovate Their Home

A disappointed couple has spoken out about their failed home renovation project after rogue builders they hired for the job had alcohol-loaded parties at their house and slept in their beds while the couple was away.

Delia and Mick Cunningham had been saving for the renovation of their home for three decades before they managed to come up with $40,000.

Finally, they had enough to hire a team of Polish laborers who trashed their home, held vodka-fueled parties, slept in their beds, and spent hundreds on the couple’s pay-per-view Sky Sports program.

As the Hardingstone, Northamptonshire-based, couple revealed, they wanted to renovate their home and sell it so that they could move closer to their son.

After returning home from vacation expecting their house to be like new, however, the couple was left disgusted to find trash, moldy foods, drugs, and empty liquor bottles all around the house.

Not only did the builders pee on the walls of the home and slept in the couple’s beds but they also did a terrible job at renovating the home.

“Obviously we told them to get out straight away. The place was a tip,” the couple said.

“These two laborers, who we think might have been homeless, were living here and they didn’t realize we would be back. The worst thing is they had been sleeping in our bed. They had used the food out the fridge and cupboard.

“We found cooked food in all the pots and pans and some was stored in the fridge, it was everywhere, even in the garden.

“If that’s how they live in our house, imagine what they must live like it their own. They just had no respect for the place. I couldn’t believe the audacity of them.

“The two men had even watched pay-per-view items on our Sky subscription. They had disconnected the gas so we had no hot water or heating.

“But they had managed to find two electric heaters and our blankets and had really made themselves at home. We knew they had been sleeping on our bed as the pillows were everywhere and the TV was on a different channel to the one we had left it on.”

As the couple added, they threw away thousands of bucks only to be left with a mess to clean and a renovation job that was rated as ‘poor’ by two independent contractors.
