Rescue mini horse and goose who were found in filthy conditions by the rescuers share a very special bond and refuse to part ways.
As The Dodo reported, the Bucks County SPCA came across Waffles the mini horse and Hemingway the goose after receiving a report about possible animal negligence.
After arriving at a farm in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, the rescuers were quick to notice that the two animals shared a pen and that their living conditions were poor.
“They were being kept in filthy conditions without adequate shelter. We don’t know how long they lived together, but (…) right from the start it seemed to us that these two shared a special bond,” BCSPCA’s Cindy Kelly said in an interview with The Dodo.
As the communications director went on to explain, the animals were brought to an SPCA barn where they remain in close contact with each other at all times.
“The pair just seem happy to be together and Hemingway especially wants to keep it that way. They seem to comfort each other,” Kelly added.
“… Hemingway just gets protective and he doesn’t want to get split up from his friend. Hemingway will honk or flap his wings if he thinks you’re trying to get between them.”
As Kelly added, Waffles required medical attention after his rescue and is in recovery as of this writing.
Once given the green light by the vets, the SPCA will work to find a forever home for the friends whereas hundreds of adoption requests for the pair were allegedly already submitted to the rescue service.
