People who work in customer service know exactly how annoying customers can be.
Some are just so irritating that they become hilarious.
While employees usually vent their frustrations privately, some businesses make their clients aware of how silly many of them are.
A restaurant in Denver recently went viral for charging its customers 38 cents for a ‘stupid question.’
Tom’s Diner bills extra 38 cents to customers who can’t understand the simplest things. They even have it written on their menu!
But of course, the restaurant just wants to add some humor on their menu and is not trying to offend anyone.
After someone shared a receipt with a ‘stupid question’ charge, his Reddit post immediately went viral.
Hunter Landry, the general manager of the restaurant, said to Today Food that they just want to add some fun with their menu.
“It’s meant to be playful. It’s good to keep things light in today’s world,” he said. “When we have a good fun table that engages with us or when they ask about the charge, it’s always fun to add it on.”
Customers also love this amazing idea. Many even ask stupid questions on purpose, with one asked: “Does the ice have any water in it?” and another wondered: “Are there any dues for the turkey club sandwich?”
One Facebook user commented: “I teach middle school… I could probably retire on charging for ‘questions I literally just answered seconds ago.”
Another wrote: “I bet the costumers are having fun and trying to one up each other in thinking of new stupid questions to ask and trying to make the staff and each other laugh. I know I’d love to visit or even work there. And I love the menus (the former and the current one) too.”
A third added: “I bet if every business did this, customers would start thinking before asking stupid questions. Time equals money people! Dont waste it with dumb questions.”
