A restaurant in Amsterdam has started using glass dining pods so that customers can dine while sitting totally isolated from other people in the eatery.

Mediamatic Biotoop, which is situated on Oosterdokseiland, initiated the project by installing just five glass pods.

The persons sitting in the beautiful glass structures will have no chances to contract the virus from an outsider as the greenhouses are perfectly closed and spaced.

The volunteers who experienced eating in mini-quarantine greenhouses found it a great way of having lunch outside amid the pandemic.

The structures present alongside the canal have a spectacular view. The fact that they are only illuminated using candle lights makes them even more breathtaking.

The personal quarantine eateries are named as “Serres Séparées,” a French word that means “separate room.”

The restaurant believes that personal glass structures will enable its customers to eat safely while complying with all the social distancing rules set out by the government and health sectors.

The mini-greenhouses aren’t opened for the public yet as the restaurant is testing its various features.

However, after acquiring the required permits and licenses, the Dutch restaurant will offer a complete plant-based menu.

The restaurant will even ensure that diners don’t come in contact with the waiters as they will be strictly ordered to pass dishes inside the glasshouse from a safe distance.

Moreover, the restaurant will only allow residents from the same house to sit together in the glass structure.

Speaking about the creative initiative, the restaurant said: “In restaurants and bars, a separate room is traditionally named in French: “Chambre séparée.”

“It suggests a sexy kind of intimacy. Here things can happen that should remain hidden from plain sight and not be heard by all.

“We’ve decided to name our greenhouses in French too. Although what happens inside will be a lot more public.”
