Genesis, an English rock band was formed in 1967 at Charterhouse School in Godalming, Surrey.
They released their first album, From Genesis to Revelation, in 1969 and sold over 100 million record copies.
They last performed together in the year 2007 and marked their 40th anniversary.
After a couple of months, they were spotted together at a basketball match in New York City.
It’s been 13 years since then and the band is now coming back together for a UK tour.
They will be announcing their reunion on Wednesday morning, on the breakfast show of Radio 2.
The guitarist/bassist Mike Rutherford, keyboardist Tony Banks and the singer/drummer Phil Collins will be getting together, while Peter Gabriel might not be getting involved in the shows.
Even last year, Mike gave a possibility of a reunion when he mentioned that they all are fit and healthy, how they are good friends and they get on well.
He even said “I mean, you never know” which was a direct indication towards the reunion.
Also, due to nerve damage, Phil Collins will not be playing the drums, but in his place, people will see his son, Nicholas, playing. This was a condition he put to return to the band.
Nicholas is 18 and has played with Phil in his 2018’s Not Dead Yet shows.
Genesis will be performing all over the UK in the months of November and December and the tickets of the shows will go on sale by later this month.
The announcement is yet to be made, but they posted a photo on their official Instagram account and captioned it as “ And then there were three.”
Phil also mentioned how he could not imagine what it would be like to not play drums and said that anything is possible.
