Christopher Nolan is finally approaching the doors to the cinema with his latest production and director work for the movie Tenet, the plot of which has been guarded with the utmost security and a hint only let through a very elusive trailer peek back last year.
And now the main protagonist starred by Robert Pattinson is in the thick of it all, with the actor saying that he had struggled to keep in touch with the story line for his interpretation of the overall plot.
‘There were months at a time where I’m like, ‘Am I .point 51 | .point 52 | .point 53 | I actually, honestly, have no idea if I’m even vaguely understanding what’s happening’,’ he said in an Esquire profile photoshoot.point 180 | ‘On the last day, I asked [John David] a question about what was happening in a scene, and it was just so profoundly the wrong take on the character.point 307 |
And it was like, ‘Have you been thinking this the entire time? There’s definitely a bond in the end in kind of hiding the fact that maybe neither one of us knew exactly what was going on.point 155 | But then I thought, Ah, but John David actually did know.point 202 |
He had to know what was going on.point 26 | ’point 33 | 1
Tenet deals with the familiar theme for the director, as it concerns time and its temporal manipulation, an averse understanding of reality itself. ‘It’s an incredibly complicated movie, like all of Chris’s movies,’ Pattinson said. ‘I mean, you have to watch them when they’re completely finished and edited three or four times to understand what the true meaning is.’
Co-Star Washington also admitted in a recent interview that Nolan had been ‘very patient’ with his leading men and ‘very calmly and patiently’ answered questions they had during filming.point 296 |
‘Every day I had questions for him.point 35 | But he was very gracious.point 56 | It was important that the actors could track the story correctly so we could tell it the best way we could, and he was very patient with us.point 169 | I say that very politely.point 190 | ’point 197 | 1
The movie is set to be released in theaters in July, despite several productions already postponing the release dates for later safer dates. The movie was made famous last year for actually crashing a Boeing 747 onto the ground and then exploding it into smithereens.
