Rockstar Games already has a portfolio of well-known titles, particularly GTA, Bully, and Red Dead Redemption.

Now, the game development company wants to expand that product line to include an open-world game that is rumored to be set in medieval times.

There have already been rumors of such a development in the works with whispers of a “Project Medieval” being floated around. However, this may be the first time that tangible proof has come out that the company is actually moving forward with the project.

A now-edited LinkedIn page of Pawas Saxena (via GamesRadar+), a Rockstar character artist, stated that the company wanted to hire someone to create “modular environment pieces with organic finish carefully following medieval architectural style.” While the entry was quickly edited, some sharp-eyed Redditors still managed to pick up on the “leak.”

Another Redditor with username /iknowstuff312 also made a post stating that “Project Medieval” will be released before Bully 2 or GTA 6 comes out. Supposedly, “Project Medieval” will be coming out on Q1 of 2021, which means this will make it a next-gen title.

The post further added that the open-world medieval game will have sword-fighting and dueling as part of the game mechanics. While this sounds amazing, the whole post should still be taken with a whole truckload’s worth of salt.

This is because Rockstar has also been reportedly working on a Bully sequel which would see protagonist Jimmy Hopkins in college. But in that earlier report, rumors had it that Bully 2 could come out as early as October 2020.

As for GTA 6, the latest iteration of the game is said to be “currently in production” after a motion capture artist added the title to his resume.

Fancy being a marauding knight knocking people off their horses and stealing their mount for yourself? Yes, that would be very interesting, indeed.
