The tennis legend Roger Federer is a family man as he recently revealed that he refuses to sleep without his wife by his side.
‘I refuse to leave the bed with my wife. We always wanted to have kids, but my dream was to be with [her] and not in another bedroom on another floor’,
‘I’d rather sleep with kids screaming than away from my wife,’ he said.
In an interview with The Sunday Times, Federer admitted that his wife, children, and friends come first.
Federer, who married Mirka in 2009, shares twin girls Myla Rose and Charlene Riva, 9, and twin boys Lenny and Leo, 4 with her.
He said that his family travels everywhere with him when he is on tour. He also admitted that he has had to change ‘a ton’ of nappies between matches.
His children are home-schooled but Federer plans to enroll them in mainstream schools in Switzerland once he retires.
He also spoke about Serena Williams’ on-court controversy during the September Open Final. He said:
‘I feel like Serena should have walked away,’
‘She did, but she went too far. She should have walked earlier.’
