The Royal Family is reportedly concerned about Meghan and Harry’s approach to attempting to close the rift between them.
Following the royal couple’s bombshell interview with Oprah, details about their private conversations with the Royal Family kept on surfacing, whereas Meghan’s friend and CBS presenter Gayle King recently revealed the couple told them that Prince Harry had unproductive talks with Prince William and Prince Charles.
As the insiders now told Vanity Fair, Palace has become concerned that their family matters, which they believe should be handled privately, are turning into a soap opera in America.
“There’s a lack of trust on both sides which makes moving forward very hard. William is now worried that anything he says to his brother will be plastered over American TV,” a source close to the Duke of Cambridge revealed.
Meanwhile, another source who is reportedly close to the Royal Family claimed that Royal Family is trying to protect Prince Philip, who just returned home after being hospitalized for a month, from headlines that could impact his wellbeing.
“The family is focused on the Duke of Edinburgh and as far as they are concerned his health is paramount,” the source told the publication.
“It seems the Sussexes seem to want to keep fueling this story at a time when the royals are trying to protect Prince Philip from the headlines. It’s a very strange way to go about trying to heal a family rift.”
According to the insider, Meghan and Harry’s attempts to heal and close the gap between them and the royals are “very strange.”
The comments follow shortly after Gayle King of CBS revealed that she had spoken to Meghan and Harry and was told that the Duke’s conversations with his brother and his father “were not productive.”
King also insisted she believes that Meghan and Harry are no longer interested in keeping things private because they have allegedly tried to do that in the past to no avail.
“And I think what is still upsetting to them is the palace keep saying they want to work it out privately, but yet, they believe these false stories are coming out that are very disparaging against Meghan, still,” the CBS presenter said.
“No one in the Royal Family has talked to Meghan yet, at this particular time.
“And I think it’s frustrating for them to see that it’s a racial conversation about the Royal Family when all they wanted all along was for the royals to intervene and tell the Press to stop with the unfair, inaccurate, false stories that definitely have a racial slant,” King concluded.
