A former royal aide who claims she was bullied by Meghan Markle has welcomed the Queen’s investigation into the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s alleged mistreatment of staff.
“We will finally be able to tell the truth,” the unnamed aide declared.
Meghan and Harry are accused of leaving behind a “lot of broken people,” with one unnamed palace worker “completely destroyed” after working with them.
According to reports, the Queen has launched an unprecedented inquiry into the claims that the Sussexes mistreated their staff, leaving former royal aides “shaken.”
Buckingham Palace said that the claims that Meghan inflicted “emotional cruelty” on workers and “drove them out” were “very” concerning.
“We will finally be able to tell the truth. It’s not going to be easy, but this is very welcome and long overdue. We don’t have to be silent anymore,” the whistleblower told The Times.
The couple’s lawyers have denied the allegations.
This comes as Meghan accused the Royal Family of “perpetuating falsehoods” about her and her husband in an interview with Oprah Winfrey. A teaser video was released only hours after the palace launched a probe into her alleged bullying of royal aides.
“We are clearly very concerned about allegations in The Times following claims made by former staff of The Duke and Duchess of Sussex,” a spokesperson said, the Daily Mail reported.
“Accordingly our HR team will look into the circumstances outlined in the article.”
“The spokesperson added: “Members of staff involved at the time, including those who have left the Household, will be invited to participate to see if lessons can be learned.
“The Royal Household has had a Dignity at Work policy in place for a number of years and does not and will not tolerate bullying or harassment in the workplace.”
Dubbing the Royal family ‘The Firm’ in the CBS trailer, Meghan insisted her in-laws were to blame for speaking out in a show set to be viewed by millions of people around the world.
Only hours after Meghan made the claims, Buckingham Palace revealed that Prince Philip has undergone a “successful procedure for a pre-existing heart condition” and will stay in hospital for “treatment, rest and recuperation for a number of days,” the Daily Mail reported.
