Ruth, a 59-year-old TV presenter officially made a statement against Phillip, another 57-year-old TV presenter of the same show.
Through a web link released by a studio, Ruth provided her audience with up-to-date information on the content of her upcoming show.
Ruth preferred to chat in an alternate studio from the one in which Phil gave his statement. Eight presenters of a talk show spoke about the vicious environment of Ruth’s upcoming show.
A correspondent from a TV show has strongly denied the claims raised in the process, and instead called them trivial speculations
Phil portrayed his disappointment and grief towards the fabricated stories.
It can be appreciated that in a male-dominated industry of TV personalities and individuals, Ruth took a stand for herself, and expressed her anger on how she was being mistreated and trivialized by her co-presenter.
While Ruth was speaking, it was not at all appropriate for Phillip to interrupt her in between and continue to speak, making up a very lame excuse in the process for interrupting her, as if her opinions did seem to matter.
Looking at Ruth stand up for herself gave more confidence to other females who had expressed similar dissatisfaction against Phillip, for his misbehaviour towards them.
Instead of apologizing for his misdemeanor, it is very disheartening to see Phillip treating the accusations against him as mere speculation.
This shows the high level of ignorance and the huge amount of ego he has, and also highlights the fact that he has no regrets on his behavior towards Ruth, which was in fact caught on national television, and witnessed by several of the daily spectators, thus in no way could have been a fabricated feud.
It must have been highly embarrassing for Ruth to be treated this way. Through her stand, Ruth inspired a lot of women afraid of speaking for themselves and demanding respect from co-workers.
