‘Breaking Bad’ And ‘The Lone Ranger’ Actor Saginaw Grant Has Passed Away


The Native American character actor who appeared on Breaking Bad and The Lone Ranger has passed away at the age of 85.

Saginaw Grant, the hereditary chief of the Sac & Fox Nation of Oklahoma, made numerous appearances in movies and roles on television.

According to his publicist and longtime friend Lani Carmichael, the legendary actor died peacefully in his sleep of natural causes.

“He loved both Oklahoma and L.A.,” Carmichael expressed. “He made his home here as an actor, but he never forgot his roots in Oklahoma. He remained a fan of the Sooner Nation.”

The heartbreaking news of his death was announced on Facebook.

“It’s with heavy hearts we announce a warrior has been called home,” it read.

“Saginaw Morgan Grant, the hereditary chief and medicine man of the Sac & Fox tribe, traveled the world speaking of his traditions, his experiences, his sobriety and his faith as both a Native American and a Christian.”

According to IMBD, Grant’s first acting role was in 1998’s War Party with Kevin Dillon.

He then made almost 60 appearances in movies and television, and his most significant TV role was a part from 1993 to 1994 on Harts Of The West, which Lloyd Bridges and his son Beau Bridges.

Grant also appeared on the 2013 Breaking Bad episode Ozymandias as a man who sells a truck to Bryan Cranston’s Walter White, and it has become one of the most acclaimed episodes from the series.

He also made appearances on major networks, including My Name Is Earl, Nash Bridges, Saving Grace, and Baywatch, and acclaimed prestige shows on cable networks, including Veep, The League, American Horror Story, and Shameless.

Carmichael said that Grant’s motto in life was “always respect one another and don’t talk about one another in a negative way.”

A memorial for the actor will be held in Los Angeles.

Grant is survived by his daughter Lisa and grandchildren Della, Vanessa, and Cassandra, and great-grandchildren Stephen, Micah Little Crow, Sherry Jo, and Joseph.
