Hollywood legend Burt Reynolds passed away at the age of 82 from a heart attack at Jupiter Medical in Florida on Thursday morning, surrounded by his family, manager Erik Kritzer.
And, his ex-girlfriend Sally Field is mourning the death of her ex-boyfriend and co-star Burt Reynolds who she dated for five years.
They worked together in four films together, including 1977’s Smokey And The Bandit and its 1980 sequel.
‘There are times in your life that are so indelible, they never fade away. They stay alive, even forty years later. My years with Burt never leave my mind. He will be in my history and my heart, for as long as I live. Rest, Buddy.’ Sally told US Magazine.
The couple met on the set of Smokey And The Bandit and dated for five years. They also starred together in comedies Hooper and The End and Smokey And The Bandit II.
Reynolds described his ex-girlfriend Sally Field as the love of his life, whom he dated on-off for five years in the ’70s and ’80s.
Reynolds told Vanity Fair:
‘I miss her terribly. Even now, it’s hard on me. I don’t know why I was so stupid. Men are like that, you know. You find the perfect person, and then you do everything you can to screw it up.’
Reynolds married to actresses Loni Anderson and Judy Carne but his marriages ended in divorce.
But, his love for Sally never ended.
