Peter Demos, a generous man from Australia, gave $100 in cash to over a dozen of jobless workers who were queuing up outside a Centrelink office located in Melbourne.
Earlier this man was identified under pseudonym John, handed out $100 bill or what he class lettuce leaves to people who were standing outside the office without any job.
He said that he saw the distress of the people, and he wanted to desperately help them out. He further explained that these are innocent people who have no means to earn bread and put food on the table for their families.
They will not get their Centrelink payments until the next week, but until then they would need to have some way to feed their families.
When Mr. Darmos saw the queue, he immediately drove to his banks and withdrew the maximum amount of $ 10,000. He then distributed a $100 bill to each individual present inside as well as outside the office.
He revealed that the tears and gratitude in people’s eyes left him speechless. Mr. Darmos explained that people need help right now; they cannot wait.
In an interview with Herald Sun, he revealed that he could not just sit and see his kids properly fed, while others out there are starving. This is a grave tragedy.
Peter Darmon is an entrepreneur who came to Australia from Greece when he was a kid. He also urged privileged Australians to donate workers who lost their jobs due to industries being shutdown amidst coronavirus outbreak.
He said that people could go to the Centrelink office and hand the jobless people some cash so that they can feed their families.
MR Darmos said that since the day he arrived, Australia has been very kind to him and his heart goes out to people who are suffering due to the nationwide shutdown.
