A 30-year-old DJ who battled leukemia for two years told the doctors to save someone else’s life before dying of coronavirus.
Liam Downing battled leukemia for two years and was finally told he wouldn’t survive as nothing could be done to save him.
Liam recently celebrated his 30th birthday with his family before contracting the deadly virus.
Liam, who knew he wouldn’t survive, told the doctors to “save someone else’s life” and died on Friday.
His sister Laura from Leeds told her brother was told by the doctors there was nothing more they could do to help him so he started making a bucket list of things he wanted to do before dying.
Then, he was told he had coronavirus.
Laura wrote on Facebook: “To then be told he had coronavirus was just devastating.”
After his death, a GoFundMe page was created to raise money for a plot, headstone, and flowers.
The GoFundMe page has already raised over £1,500. Liam’s sister told they would be donating the remaining money to the hospital where Liam spent his two years battling leukemia.
Thousands have died after the deadly virus started spreading across the world in December.
A few days back, a 47-year-old man died alone at his home after he contracted coronavirus.
Tim Galley, from Wrexham, North Wales, was fit and healthy before he started showing coronavirus symptoms after he went on a stag do.
He was living away from his partner in isolation and died alone at home after his health deteriorated.
A few days before dying, when his partner told him about her fears that they won’t be able to see each other for a couple of weeks, Tim said: “Don’t be silly, of course, you will.”
