A loving schoolboy has gone viral after holding the hand of a fellow student with autism after seeing the boy cry on his first day at school.
The first day at school can be extremely nerve-wracking for any child, and as it happens, it turned out to be more than he could handle for one young boy, Connor Crites, who has autism.
When his classmate, Christian Moore, saw Connor crying because he was upset, he immediately approached him and held his hand as they walked into their class together.
What Christian didn’t know, however, is that his action was extra-appreciated by the boy because he has autism and going to Minneha Elementary School in Kansas presented a real challenge for him.
“He was kind to me. I was in the first day of school and I started crying then he helped me and I was happy. He found me and held my hand and I got happy tears,” Connor said of his new best friend.
Christian’s mother was also impressed by her son’s actions and decided to share the story on Facebook where it instantly went viral.
“I saw him on the ground with Connor as Connor was crying in the corner and he was consoling him,” the mother recalled in an interview with KAKE.
“He grabs his hand and walks him to the front door. He waited until the bell rang and he walked him inside the school. The rest is history. They have an inseparable bond.”
According to April Crites, Connor’s mother, she was often worried about how her son would be accepted at school. All her fears, however, are now the past as the boy made a friend that will always have his back.
