A teacher has reportedly won a mega lawsuit against a school who reportedly removed her for placing a Black Lives Matter flag in her classroom.

Amy Donofrio claims she was recently reassigned from her duties after she had hung a flag from the BLM in her classroom. The incident took place at Jacksonville’s Riverside High School in Florida. Without a doubt, the decision sparked outrage and that’s when the teacher opted to file a lawsuit against the school because she felt it was uncalled for.

The teacher was requested to remove her flag but when she refused to do just that, the school district went about reassigning her from her duties.

Donofrio mentioned how the school chose to retaliate against her for her actions, and that was something that violated her rights regarding freedom of speech.

Right after the shocking incident that took place in the month of March of this year, the teacher has reportedly moved away from her teaching department towards duties being conducted at the school’s warehouse premises.

Other than being a teacher, Donofrio mentioned how she was also an active member of the group that was called the EVAC Movement. This reclassifies all the Black youth present in Jacksonville from being at risk to being at hope.

Meanwhile, the school district committee in Jacksonville mentioned how the teacher was currently under investigation for her behavior relating to several matters. And that’s right after they made the decision to reassign her. But they also failed to give details relating to what these matters really were, at the end of the day.

That’s when the teacher opted to file a lawsuit against the school. One reports suggest that if a decision was not reached soon, the case could have even gone as far as the Supreme Court.

One board member from the school district claims that the school strongly feels that they did nothing wrong but again argued how the money being used is from taxpayers’ funds.
