According to the reports, the school has since mandated that all coaches and students who practice sports that require a lot of close contact wear these devices that can be attached to the body or on helmets, hats, or other accessories.

The devices also collect information about students’ whereabouts and their contact with other pupils, making it easier for the school to find out who was in contact with who after a certain individual tests positive for Covid.point 192 | 1

As of this writing, the school allegedly requires that both vaccinated and unvaccinated athletes wear the devices.

After the news of the extreme measure has spread, people were quick to condemn the school and compare the tracing devices to ankle monitors used to keep an eye on criminals who are on probation.

“Ankle monitors are for criminals not children,” someone wrote on Facebook after the school’s Covid measures went viral.

“Some of this stuff is getting NEW WORLD ORDERISH, and if anything, intrusive, overbearing and overreaching,” another one added.

One person wrote: “This is ridiculous! It’s almost like you’re shaming the students. If that’s not a form of bullying I don’t know what is. The only students that have to wear the monitors have not had the Covid vaccine yet. Kids have enough stress these days.”

Some people, however, appeared to agree with the school on this matter.

“Being pro-active is an excellent way to Contact Trace, since it is inevitable that at least one person will get the virus or even have a positive Covid test,” one netizen expressed.
