Poppy Leigh is a 13 years old girl who wanted the share the festive vibe with her friends and teachers at school so she decided to bring out something of her hair.
But rather than letting her celebrate it, her teachers had threatened her to take it off or she will be sent back home.
Poppy had tied her hair up shaped like a tree and had put fairy lights on it to go to school.
Her mother said, “We were at home when she came in and asked me if she could do a tree hairdo for school and then she grabbed an empty bottle.
She placed the bottle on the top of her head and then tied hair all around it to make it look like a tree. She then wrapped the Christmas light on it too. She was so excited.
She had then gone to school but it did not turn out great. While one of her teachers appreciated the way she looked, others asked her to get her hairdo out or she would have to go back home.
She would not come back because I know she loves school and so she sadly had to take the tree out of her hair. She was just trying to be a little festive and nothing else but the school did not want her to be.”
On the same, the principle of the school said that at Manchester Health Academy is very strict with its uniform and discipline. It expects great things out of its students and Poppy being a top student, was not liable for the act.
The school did not expect to violate the rules from her.
