Mental health is an important topic that should not be ignored no matter who the person is or what age group they belong to.
While adults are better at dealing with mental health disorders, kids and students are not, still they are the one who are the farthest one to get any treatment of help they need.
School students, who are generally teenagers, are mostly unable to understand what they are feeling and they react in different ways. They become cranky, they scream, they rattle, and at times they walk towards the path of drug abuse.
To deal with the same, kids around England in about 370 schools will be taught the notions and techniques of meditation and mindfulness so that the kids can have better mental health.
According to the stats, one in every 8 kids is suffering from a mental health issue and out of all the suffering kids, only one out of 5 is able to get the treatment or the help they need. The rest keep on struggling.
To deal with the situation, 370 schools will conduct classes’ on the same at least up till 2021.
Dealing with emotion for the first time can be challenging that is why these sessions will be conducted right in the classroom so each and every kid has no obstacle in the access.
But this is not the first time something like this has come up.
Yes, mental health issues have gained a lot of popularity in the recent times and because of the same, a school in Baltimore saw the same and rather than sending kids to detention, they started a new subject where the kids could go and practice relaxing exercises like breathing and stretching.
It was an elementary school and kids started showing changes in their behavior in a positive way.
