If you’re thinking scientists have discovered another gigantic sarcophagus containing unidentified mummies then we assure you, this time it’s something more important!
The Great Pyramid of Giza which was built around 2500 BC is the oldest of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Despite many decades of research, the mysteries and properties of the Great Pyramid still fascinate the scientists who are always unveiling new things about it.
The 481-feet-tall Pyramid was built for Pharaoh Khufu, that’s why scientists believe it to contain ancient secrets and mythical qualities.
And just recently, a team of scientists has discovered some incredible physical properties of the Great Pyramid.
In their latest discovery, scientists from ITMO University have found that the Great Pyramid of Giza can concentrate electric and magnetic energy through its chambers and below its base, as a result of which pockets of higher energy are created within its walls.
Scientific supervisor and coordinator of the research Dr Andrey Evlyukhin said: “Egyptian pyramids have always attracted great attention. We as scientists were interested in them as well, so we decided to look at the Great Pyramid as a particle dissipating radio waves resonantly.”
The electromagnetic energy was mostly being concentrated in the Pyramid’s hidden chambers, including the chamber containing the Pharaoh’s remains.
In case you don’t know what electromagnetic energy is, according to ScienceStuck: “The energy source required to transmit information (in the form of waves) from one place (material) to another. This information can be in the form of light, heat, or in any other form.”
The new discovery goes beyond understanding the secrets of the Pyramids.
The researchers said: “The electromagnetic energy accumulates in the chambers […] It is shown that basically the Pyramid scatters the electromagnetic waves and focuses them in to the substrate [underground] region.”
According to the team, the distribution of electromagnetic energy in the Pyramid’s structure could help create efficient nanoparticle designs, the Daily Mail reported.
“Choosing a material with suitable electromagnetic properties, we can obtain pyramidal nanoparticles with a promise for practical application in nanosensors and effective solar cells,” Polina Kapitainova, a member of the Faculty of Physics and Technology of ITMO University, said.
Scientists have been continuously discovering new things about the Pyramids which have been there for more than 4000 years. And with each new discovery, we are moving a step closer to unveil the mystery behind these ancient structures.
So, let’s wait and see what the scientists find next!
