Scientists Claimed Swallowing Partner’s Semen Could Help Reduce The Risk Of Miscarriage

Scientists claim pregnant women can reduce the risk of miscarriage by regularly swallowing their partner’s semen.

Researchers said semen strengthens a woman’s immune system and makes fetuses more likely to develop healthily. They say it is because semen contains proteins and hormones that could be useful for pregnant women to build up a tolerance.

In addition, vaginal exposure to semen (unprotected sex) could also play an important role when it comes to trying to conceive. But researchers from Leiden University Medical Centre in the Netherlands claim it may be better if semen is absorbed in the gut.

Scientists tested their theory by comparing oral sex habits and pregnancy history of 234 women.

They acknowledge that the study, which was published in the Journal of Reproductive Immunology, was small but their results are strong enough to suggest a link between swallowing sperm and lower miscarriage rate.

The researchers wrote: “Oral exposure to seminal fluid seems to… influence pregnancy outcome in a positive way.

“Our results suggest an association between less oral sex and the occurrence of recurrent miscarriage.”

By building up the woman’s tolerance to substances from the man’s body, parents could give their fetus a better chance of growing and developing. The theory also explains this could make the mother’s immune system less likely to reject the fetus.

Previous studies may have focused on the mother’s biology instead of the influence of the father’s bodily fluids, the scientists suggested.
