Recently, a Supreme Court case may create a right, but then it can be the biggest mistake as it will lead to more crimes and violence.
There can be 13% to 15% increase in violence if people will be allowed to take guns everywhere. The analysis was done on 33 US states, which lead to an argument on how letting people roam freely with guns can affect violence.
The US Supreme Court is expecting to hear a challenge to ban the license for taking guns outside the New York City limits and allowing people to carry guns around can turn out to be a dangerous mistake according to John Donohue who is the new study’s lead author from Stanford Law School.
The debate on these statistics has been going on since 1998 as the book by John Lott Jr. More Guns, Less Crime, was launched.
Since the book was published, more than 11 states allowed having rights to carry the gun, and now 30 states allow the same without any permit.
According to the survey, more than 3.1 million people were victims of violent crimes like robberies, rapes, and much more in the US.
To jail, all these people who are committing crimes are not possible as the prison population will double up, and that’s why it may not be a safe idea to allow guns like that.
It has been the most rigorous studies about the right to carry laws, and also there have been a lot of court battles over it.
The small areas will definitely be affected by this law; that’s why it is important to put some barriers in such states so that there isn’t much violence happening around.
