It has been an eternal wait for the fans but we’ll soon be having the next season of The Umbrella Academy on our screens.
Netflix has officially confirmed that the second season of the show is on its way.
Recently, the official Instagram account of Netflix for Ireland and UK posted photos of the cast of the show, writing: “Just some good eggs taking a family selfie. Umbrella Academy s2 is coming soon.”
As of now, we cannot specify an exact date for the release as nothing has officially been said in this regard so far.
However, another reasonable assumption is that the filming of the season has finished.
Some fans even have developed their own theories regarding the release. The main assumption in these theories is that the first season was released around a year after the commencement of filming.
The first day of the filming of season one was in January of 2018.
It was revealed by a picture of the shooting shared by Gerard Way and Gabriel Bá – the people behind the comics on which The Umbrella Academy is based.
The show was released on Netflix in February 2019, around a year after the photo was shared.
However, it might take lesser time now as season one has been a huge success and the creators might want to release the sequel soon.
Or the team might want to put the best in the creation of an even better iteration of the successful series, meaning it would take a longer time to complete.
But all this is just guesswork and we cannot confirm anything until the people at Netflix officially announce a date for the release of the series.
So far, Netflix is refusing to comment on whether the show has finished shooting or not.
The thing that’s known with 100% accuracy so far is that the upcoming season will consist of 10 one-hour episodes and will be produced by Universal Content Producers for Netflix.
The people starring in this series include David Castañeda, Ellen Page, Emmy Raver-Lampman, David Castañeda, and Mary J. Blige.
The story of the show revolves around a group of “estranged siblings with extraordinary powers” who band together to solve the mystery of their foster father’s death.
