Bernando LaPallo who lived for 114 years had dropped the secret five foods that have kept him going well and rocking for more than a century.
He had a very different approach to life and he took his last breath in 2015 at the age of 114.
In a video, the courtesy was given to a proper diet and eating clean. He said, “People ask me what do you do to stay so young. I say, ‘Well you’ve heard the old saying, you are what you eat.”
He claimed that he had never been sick even for a day in his life. Bernando picked some daily habits from his dad who was a doctor and died at the age of 98. Bernando also shared that he avoided meat and ate mostly organic food and vegetables. He had a really sharp memory and also thanked his dad for his teachings.
He said, ”I can remember things my father told me when I was 8 years old!”
“He told me not to eat ordinary red meat. He said to stay away from it. Hot dogs, french fries and all those things — don’t eat it.”
Bernando shared five foods that have played a huge role in making him live for 114 years.
First one was cinnamon. It is a sweet and delicious spice, with a flavor of its own also high in a substance with powerful medicinal properties. Cinnamon may reduce the risk of heart disease and lowers blood sugar levels and has a powerful anti-diabetic effect.
Then the second item was chocolate. Isn’t it unbelievable?
But according to Bernando chocolate is one of those foods that helped him to live longer. Chocolate helps us to overcome stress, lowers cholesterol, and also prevents cognitive decline.
Next, he said garlic. There are many people who love garlic while others don’t. Garlic contains compounds with potent medicinal properties and it helps to prevent Alzheimer’s disease and dementia and lower the risk of heart failure.
Honey has natural healing powers and protects us from a lot of health problems. The antioxidants in it are linked to other beneficial effects on heart health.
Finally, olive oil is rich in healthy monounsaturated fats and also beneficial in protection against heart disease and improves cognitive functions.
