Selena Gomez made her long-awaited comeback through a performance of new music at American Music Awards, her first live television performance in a couple of years.
The 27-year-old singer opened the show with desire, performing a choreographed dance routine as she sang her latest songs Look at Her Now and Lose You to Love Me.
A post revealing that body-shaming messed her up, Gomez had an onstage costume change that was daring.
The celebrity friends of the singer lapped up the show, with her long term best friend, Taylor Swift and new best friend, Halsey dancing and singing along as she performed on the stage.
Earlier, Selena seemed to be radiant and confident on the red carpet. She hit it at the Microsoft Theater in downtown in LA, posing graciously for selfies with fans who waited to have a look of their favourite stars.
Posterior her performance, Selena took it to Instagram to share a collage with her fans of the behind-the-scenes photos from the Awards including the one that showed a new thigh tattoo.
Although the new ink could not be seen on the red carpet, it could be partially seen from under her dress when Selena changed outfits onstage.
The tattoo features a pair of hands praying with a rosary wrapped around them. Gomez has tagged the NYC shop Bang Band Tattoo in her post giving them the credits for her new ink.
Her appearance came days posterior her appearance on the Giving Back Generation podcast, in which she talked about being body shamed.
She stated in her podcast that she does not care to expose herself to everyone and hear what they have to say about it.
