We all have fears and celebrities are no exception in this case.
Selena Gomez may be a big name in the music industry but she has fears like rest of us.
The 27-year-old singer dreads to live alone forever after remaining single following Justin Bieber split. Explaining the meaning behind the lyrics of her new song Rare, Selena said during an interview with Genius: ”Some days when I wake up and I’m annoyed, I’m like, I’m going to be alone forever.”
”After that 15 minutes goes away, I say to myself, I know that there’s someone for everybody.”
Last year, Selena explained that she needs some time for herself after breaking up with Justin. She told Wall Street Journal: ”I’ve been single for over two years now.”
During an interview with NPR on 26 January, the singer admitted that she was a ‘victim’ in the relationship. ‘I do feel I was a victim to certain abuse” during the relationship.
When asked whether she was pointing to ‘emotional abuse’, Selena confirmed it. She said: ”Yes, and I think that it’s something that – I had to find a way to understand it as an adult.”
”As much as I definitely don’t want to spend the rest of my life talking about this, I am really proud that I can say I feel the strongest I’ve ever felt and I’ve found a way to just walk through it with as much grace as possible.”
Selena admitted working on her confidence and self-esteem was a constant struggle.
”I had low self-esteem, and that’s something I work on continuously,” she told WSJ magazine.”My highs were really high, and my lows would take me out for weeks at a time.
But I feel so empowered because I’ve gained so much knowledge about what was going on mentally. ””I found out I do suffer from mental health issues,’ she continued. And, honestly, that was such a relief. I realized that there was a way to get help and to find people that you trust. I got on the right medication, and my life has been completely changed.”
