The San Franciscan fire that went ablaze overnight has resulted in the loss of Pier 45, according to the city’s fire department on Saturday afternoon official statement.
150 and more firefighters and relevant personnel contributed to help put out the fire that supposedly destroyed a quarter of the pier at Fisherman’s Wharf. The warehouse on the pier had been destroyed since the fire first was observed and reported to relevant authorities on 4am.

The fire was contained by early afternoon on the same day, but firefighting personnel will be stationed throughout the pier for containment, and even through Memorial Day weekend, to ensure that none of the other vulnerabilities fall prey to leftover fire or tinder.point 344 |

The causes for the fire are still not known, and the fire department has been very passionate to contain the fire within the current area of inferno, as the whole pier was victimless and fully evacuated. The fire caused a partial building collapse on the southern part of the pier, spread to two buildings on the pier and was in danger of spreading to a third, fire officials say.
