Beverly Hills, 90210 actress Shannen Doherty has opened up about her battle with stage 4 cancer and admitted she needs to get ready to prepare her final messages for her loved ones to read after she passes away.
As the Charmed star revealed back in February, she has been diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer three years after defeating the disease and going into remission.
Now, the popular actress has once again opened up about her condition and revealed that she is aware of her need to prepare letters with her final messages to people she cares about.
As the 49-year-old insisted in an interview with Elle, however, penning final goodbyes feels too final whereas she still feels “very healthy.”
“I haven’t sat down to write letters. That’s something I need to do,” the BH90210 star told the outlet.
“There are things I need to say to my mom. I want my husband to know what he’s meant to me. But whenever it comes time for me to do it, it feels so final. It feels like you’re signing off, and I’m not signing off.”
Despite battling stage 4 cancer for several months, Doherty insisted she feels like “a very, very healthy human being” as she suggested “it’s hard to wrap up your affairs when you feel like you’re going to live another 10 or 15 years.”
“It’s like anybody with Stage IV faces this sort of thing, where others want to put you out to pasture. I’m not ready for pasture. I’ve got a lot of life in me,” the actress added.
As the 49-year-old also told Elle, she is now doing her best to “treasure all the small moments that most people don’t really see or take for granted.”
Sending prayers for Doherty and her family!
